Roadtrip 2022 Fall: Richland - Boise - Ely - Kanab - Sedona - Joshua Tree - Paso Robles - Calistoga - Brookings - Cannon Beach

Day 30 - Twin Buttes

The run-in to Twin Buttes is the familiar Broken Arrow.

The Pinks are very docile today: their bellies are full of Belgians and they are happy to digest their feast in the bush.

The Team takes the bend into Twin Buttes.

This yucca is adhering to a strict diet and workout schedule.

With just a little imagination these are almost petroglyphs. See bottom right - it's Eeyore in flight.

Strange haircuts are the order of the day in this yucca garden.

In Australia they have something like this called, "spinifex grass" - don't back into it.

Grass with a Mohawk - it's not clear who would do this, but the grass here clearly has a sense of style.

In every yucca garden - there's always someone who gets caught up in a local vortex.

The Scouting Party contemplates a path through the World-Famous Khumbu Rockfall. Many expeditions have failed right here.

The Khumbu Rockfall is indeed a perilous traverse.

Past the rockfall, Sherpa Sock navigates the Other Hillary Step on the extremely perilous NorthWest Face.

Every red rock knob hosts it's own personal tree - meantime it feels like many faces are looking down upon us.

Nearing the summit ridge.

It's never my fault.

This agave waves her magic fingers as we pass.

Trying to be stealthy - not highly successful.

Crazy views abound.

Just about turnaround time. Oxygen running low.

The Black Helicopters have been patrolling that far ridge all day and ignoring us. That anti-FLIR spray (from Hike House) works like magic!
